Year 10 and Year 11
The next 2 years you will be working towards GCSE, BTEC or other formal qualifications. In year 9 you will have be given one of the four pathways (Green, Blue, Orange or Purple) to follow in Years 10 and 11. You will be given plenty of advice regarding the option choices available within your pathway and opportunity to discuss these with teachers and senior leaders during option interviews and a special options evening. It is essential that you choose a wide a variety of subjects so that you gain a broad and well balanced education that will leave your future options at 16 much more open.
Everyone's timetable will be made up of Core subjects and Options.

In addition to the core subjects and depending which pathway you are allocated you will start a mix of the following options:
GCSE: These are traditional academic qualifications and are assessed through exams and the end of Year 11.
- Food Technology
- Product Design
- Computer Science
- English for foreign speekers
BTEC: These are vocational courses linked to careers and jobs. The major way in which they are assessed is through coursework but there is a unit that is assessed via an examination.
