Meet the Coach day

Working closely with families is a priority for the Academy. So all parents/carers must attend a 'Meet the Coach' appointment before students start back at the Academy in September. 

At this appointment, you will be talked through various Academy policies and you will be asked to sign to agree them/or give permissions. It is essential that this documentation is completed prior to your child coming back to school and beginning lessons. 

It is very important that you attend this event so that we can ensure that we can work together to ensure your child's success. 

Below are the time schedules for when you can come and 'Meet the Coach'. 

How do I know which coach to meet?

Unless your child is new to the Academy, they will know which coaching group they are in. Tables will be clearly labelled when you get there. However, there will be a full list of coaching groups displayed as a reminder when you get here. 


I have more than one child. Does this mean I have to have a 'Meet the Coach' appointment for each child?

No. If you have more than one child please visit one of their coaches and complete only one 'Meet the Coach' appointment. You will sign paperwork for all of your children at the same time. If one of your children is in Year 7, please try and see their coach. 


I have two children with different surnames and fall into different time slots. What time should I come in?

Please choose the most convenient time for you and only attend one 'Meet the Coach' appointment. You will sign paperwork for all of your children at the same time. If one of your children is starting in Year 7 this year, please try to see their coach. 


I can't make the date that you've specified. Can I rearrange the appointment?

If you are unable to attend this appointment, please contact 0113 380 7940 to arrange a different time. However we would encourage you to attend when requested as alternative time slots are very limited and your child cannot start school on Wednesday 6th September unless the documents have been completed. 


When will my child recieve their new timetable?

We will issue new planners and timetables at the 'Meet the Coach' appointments


What if I have further questions?

We hope that we have provided you with enough information to prepare for the September start. However, if there is anything further you wish to know, your child's coach be happy to answer any questions at your appointment. If it is something urgent, you can email us at info@cal.coop or contact us by telephone on 0113 380 7940 but please bear in mind we have limited staff available to anser questions in the holidays.
