Problem solving and 'Magic Vs' at maths CPD session
Last night our Maths department ran a CPD session in partnership with White Rose Maths Hub. The session focused on KS2/3 techniques for teaching reasoning and problem solving.
Over 75 primary teachers attended the event, where they used hands on approaches to solve reasoning and problem solving questions. This helps to create a mathmatically rich environment where the students can manipulate blocks, puzzles or something else to help them figure out and solve the problem at hand. By applying this technique students learn through planned and everyday activities using their natural curiosity and reasoning.
The session was a great success and we look forward to our next one on 22nd of June.
