Tea dance and Easter bonnet Parade with Burmantofts Senior Action

Continuing our work with Burmantofts Senior Action Group and The Archbishop of York Youth Trust some of our Year 8s attended a Tea Dance and Easter Bonnet Parade at St Agnes' Church Hall.

Also in attendance were the Lord and Lady Mayor of Leeds who, following a very impressive parade, judged the Easter Bonnet competition choosing first, second and third places. The Lord Mayor had forgotten his own bonnet but the generous attendees were more than happy to lend him theirs!
After the parade, professional dance teacher Tanya  was on hand to show our students and the other attendees how to waltz, jive and 'do the locomotion'.
Councillor Khan for Burmantofts and Richmond Hill, who is also one of our Academy’s governors, stopped by to join in the fun and speak with the local residents.
Our students then brought out the lovely sandwiches and cakes made by members of the Burmantofts Senior Action Group. The afternoon tea was followed by lots more dancing and laughs.
Thank you very much to Burmantofts Senior Action for inviting us along, and we look forward to next time!
