Leeds Got Talent 2017: Kia and Danielle

Last night was Leeds Got Talent, the annual inter-school talent show organised by MAMG.
Five local schools competed, each with two acts. There were singers, dancers, live bands and even some acrobatics!
Our two contestants were Year 7 Kia and GCSE Music student Danielle. Kia performed a beautiful rendition of Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud and Danielle gave a dazzling piano recital of First Waltz by Durand. Both made us incredibly proud and represented the Academy and themselves brilliantly.
Also there representing the Academy were some of our other students, proudly holding signs that said "GO CAL". It's fair to say we were definitely the best supported school there!
After all the acts had performed our neighbour Shakespeare Primary wowed the audience with a dancing and singing group called DynaMix.
There was a wonderful end to the night when our singer Kia made it in to the final, coming second out of all the other acts! We are so proud of Kia and Danielle for having the courage, confidence and talent to have even got up on stage.
A big well done to Kia and Danielle, Mrs Shaw for helping them rehearse and finally all the students who turned up to support their fellow classmates. CAL has definitely got talent!
