From trash to fashion!
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight Miss Frost's Year 9 class transformed everyday rubbish into high fashion clothing.
Over two lessons the students have researched, presented and made recycled clothing out of trash donated by staff at the Academy.
The project is designed to help the students look at what and how we waste things in a different way. By recycling the rubbish into something by hand it allows the students to interact with the materials in a new way.
This appreciation for what things are, where they come from and how they are used is an integral part of the Fairtrade way of thinking.
And although some designs were more wearable than others, it was brilliant to see the Year 9s being creative and inspired.
