Spelling Bee 2017 finals

On Monday we had our first ever Spelling Bee!

After preliminary rounds, 23 of our Year 7s made it to the final of our innagural Spelling Bee. They gathered in the hall after school to battle it out for the 'Golden Wasp's Nest'.

The first round was made up of previously seen (and well-practiced) subject specific words, such as 'cardiovascular' and 'pseudocode'. This was then followed by a round of unseen words, really testing the students knowledge.

All of the students gave a great effort, but Amina Hussein pipped them to the post winning with the word 'necessary'.

Congratulations to Amina! And a big well done for our runners-up Daanyal Khan and Hamza Hussain. But most of all thanks to everyone who took part to make the night a success!
