About Us

  • JOM

I am delighted to welcome you  to the Academy. We are very proud of the diverse nature of our community. Our students and staff come from many different backgrounds and speak over 70 different languages. I see this as a real strength of our Academy.

Our aim is to ensure that all students achieve their maximum potential and ensure that the Academy is an outstanding learning community.

We expect our students to work hard, behave with consideration and show respect for others. In return we offer an exciting curriculum, personalised to meet the needs of individual students. Our staff take time to develop a full understanding of the needs of each student so that they can provide effective support and challenge.

All students entering the Academy are placed in small coaching groups of up to 12 students ranging from Year 7 to Year 13. This helps to ensure that each student is valued. It also places a responsibility upon the older students to encourage and support the younger members of our community.

We believe that success is built upon a strong partnership between parents, students, staff and the local community. As such we encourage all our parents to get involved actively in the life of the school. Working closely with our local communities is an important part of our work.

Our academy is sponsored by The Co-operative Group; the UK’s largest mutual business, owned by millions of members. The Co-operative’s businesses are run ethically in line with its values and principles. These values and principles form the basis of the Academy’s ethos.

The Co-operative also sponsors a number of successful secondary academy schools in Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent and primary academies here in Leeds.

Leeds City College is the Academy’s Education Partner. We work in collaboration with the College, allowing our students access to a wide range of expertise and resources.

We welcome visitors to school and would be happy to show you round so that you can see the Academy in operation. Please do contact us to arrange a convenient time.
